Wind sock located off airport 100+ yards Northwest side atop a private hangar. Runway subject to turbulent winds, high terrain to the NE, SW approach favored. Runway 04 requires dog–leg approach due to mountainous terrain. Alaska Railroad parallels runway along south side. Aircraft required to taxi on runway and avoid use of subdivision road parallel to runway. Runway 04 edges and threshold marked with orange reflective cones. Runway 22 left side slopes down hill and surface is uneven.
